Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard,   lest we drift away.   For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast,   and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,   HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE IF WE NEGLECT SO GREAT A SALVATION.   (Hebrews 2:1-2,3)

Have you ever seen a sign that said,   danger ahead?   Or danger,   enter at your own risk?   And if you saw these signs,   would you just ignore them and keep going like you didn’t have anything to worry about?   Of course,   you wouldn’t.    I imagine you would turn away and find a safer route.
Well,   the warning in Hebrews is so much more important.   Because the writer is not warning you about something that might happen,   he is telling you it will happen.
We all deserve death and hell because we are all sinners.   We all fall short  (Romans 3:23).   That is why God sent His Son to die for us.   To sacrifice Himself to pay the price for our sins.
And if we ignore this wonderful gift and push Him aside for the things of this world.   If we ignore the things we know are the truth.   If we ignore the warnings The Lord has given to us in His word.   Then we risk far more than just being killed.   We risk our salvation and an eternity in darkness and pain.   Totally separated from God,   and totally alone.   Do you see the warnings?   Do you see the danger signs?
We have a loving Savior,   who sends His Holy Spirit to us to open our eyes so we can see these warnings.   Don’t just walk past them,   because there is a lot of danger ahead for all of us,   and we need to pay close attention.
Remember the old tv series,   lost in space and the robot would yell danger,   danger,   danger.    That is the warning the Lord is giving to all of us if we neglect our salvation,   and don’t cherish it.   Because how could we ever escape judgement if we neglect so great a salvation.

There are diversities of gifts,   but the same Spirit.   There are differences of ministries,   but the same Lord.   And there are diversities of activities,   but it is the same God who works all in all.   But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one FOR THE PROFIT OF ALL:    But earnestly desire the best gifts.   And yet I show you a more excellent way.
Love suffers long AND IS KIND;   love does not envy;   love does not parade itself,   is not puffed up;   does not behave rudely,   does not seek its own,   IS NOT PROVOKED,   thinks no evil;   does not rejoice in iniquity,   but rejoices in the truth;   bears all things,   believes all things,   hopes all things,   ENDURES ALL THINGS.   LOVE NEVER FAILS.
And now abide faith,   hope,   love,   these three;     BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-7,31. 13:47,8,13)

Any spiritual gifts we receive,   we receive through the Holy Spirit.   When we receive salvation when we ask to be forgiven and ask Jesus to become Lord of our life.   We receive the Holy Spirit.   AND HE IS LOVE.   This spiritual love that all believers receive when the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts,   changes us.   Changes our thinking,   our attitude,   the things that we once thought were important are no longer important.
You see,   without love nothing else matters.
This gift,   this love,   starts out small in us.   But as we walk in the Lord,   it grows.
I still need a lot more of it.   I can be rude at times,   but the difference is now I realize it and I stop myself.   That love helps you to realize because someone is nasty or rude,   maybe that isn’t who they are at all.   Maybe they are just having a bad day.
Or even if it is who they are,   you don’t have to let who they are,   or how they act,   change who you are in Christ.    Instead,   let who you are in Christ change them.
God is Love  (1John 4:8),   and love is a spiritual gift.   So that has to mean that Love is definitely the greatest spiritual gift we have.

If the world hates us, WE NEED TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

As the Father has loved Me,     I also have loved you;     ABIDE IN MY LOVE.     If you keep My commandments,     you will abide in My love,     just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.    (All that Jesus did,    He did as an example for us,    to teach us.)
These things I have spoken to you,     that My joy may remain in you,     and that your joy may be full.     This is My commandment,     THAT YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU.     Greater love has no one than this,     than to lay down one’s life for His friends.     You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.     No longer do I call you servants,     for a servant does not know what his master is doing;     but I have called you friends,     for all things that I heard from…

Now this I say,     brethren,     that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God;     nor does corruption inherit incorruption.     Behold I tell you a mystery:     We shall not all sleep,     but we shall all be changed- in a moment,     IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE,     at the last trumpet.     For the trumpet will sound,      and the dead will be raised incorruptible,     AND WE SHALL BE CHANGED.     For this corruptible must put on incorruption,     and this mortal must put on immortality.     So when this corruptible has put on incorruption,      and this mortal has put on immortality,     then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:     DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY  (Isaiah 25:8).
O Death,     where is your sting?     O Hell,     where is your victory  (Hosea 13:14)?
The sting of death is sin,     and the strength of sin is the law.     BUT THANKS BE TO GOD…

Do not love the world or the things of the world.   If anyone loves the world,   the love of the Father is not in him.   For all that is in the world- the lust of the flesh,   the lust of the eyes,   and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world.
(1 John 2:15-16)

All these THINGS that are in the world,   ARE ONLY TEMPORARY.   And the enemy of our souls will use them to pull you away from the Lord.    If we value the world,   and the things of the world,   that is where death lies.
Because even if you know the Lord,   you will compromise your faith in Him for things.   You see our whole society,   and I don’t care where you live.   It is base,   and the most important things are sex,   money,   fame.   It is a me,   me,   me mentality.
And the more we think of ourselves,   the less we think of the Lord.   And the further we get from Him.   So the more we are into the world,   the more we love the world.   The further we are from God.
The world is full of anger,   hatred,   and hopelessness.   That is the world the Lord is calling us out of.   And He is calling us into a world that is filled with love,   joy,   peace,  and hope.   Jesus came and gave His life so we could experience that life right here,   right now.   And then have Eternal life with Him and our Father in heaven.
Our God’s desire for you not to be a part of the world is because He loves you and He wants to protect you.
Jesus loves you and so do I,   my name is Irv.

Beloved,   I now write to you that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets,   and of us,   the apostles of the Lord and Savior,    knowing that scoffers will come in the last days,   walking according to their own lusts,   and saying,   Where is the promise of His coming?   For since the fathers fell asleep,   all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.   For this,   they willfully forget:   that by the word of God the heavens were of old.   By which the world that then existed perished,   being flooded with water.   BUT the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word,   and reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But,   beloved do not forget THIS ONE THING,   that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years,   and a thousand years is as one day.   The Lord is not slack concerning His promise,   as some count slackness,   BUT IS LONGSUFFERING TOWARD US,   not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night,   in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise,   and the elements will melt with fervent heat;   both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.   (A very good question coming up)  Therefore,   since all these things will be dissolved,   what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness?   Nevertheless we,   according to His promise,   look for a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
(2 Peter 3:1-11,13)

I know that there are those who say that God’s word is a fairytale,  or that He is dead because it’s been so long.    But what we need to always remember and hold onto is that God Himself lives outside of time,   He lives in eternity.   And that God’s timing is always perfect.   It was perfect when Jesus came the first time,   and it will be perfect when He comes the second time.
The reason He waits is simply because of love.   The longer He waits,   that many more people will hear about His Son,   our Savior Jesus Christ.   It is not His will that any should perish,   that is why He sent His Son to die for us.   Unfortunately,   many are every day.   So you hold onto the Lord,   and trust in His promises.   And while you’re doing that,   tell someone you love about Jesus.   You will never show them anymore love then when you do that.   And you will never give them a greater gift.
Jesus loves you and so do I,   my name is Irv.

God has not promised to bless oratory or clever preaching.      HE HAS PROMISED to bless His word.    Billy Graham.
It doesn’t matter how well someone speaks,     or whether they shout or whisper.      The Lord will bless His truth to all those who will listen,     even when they don’t think they want to.     It is the word of God that matters,     His truth.

For the word of the Lord is right,     and all His work is done in truth.      (Psalm 33:4)
Having been born again,     not of corruptible seed but incorruptible,     THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD WHICH LIVES AND ABIDES FOREVER.     (1 Peter 1:23)
In the beginning was the Word,     and the Word was with God,     and the Word was God.     ( John 1:1)

When it comes to spiritual matters people can be weird.    They become obsessed with angels,   but they seem to ignore the God who created and directs these heavenly messengers.    They devote their time to seeking and understanding truth,  but they never encounter the One who is absolute truth.    They engage in all sorts of rituals and rules to try to find and reach out to their creator,   but they completely miss out on the fact that He has already REACHED DOWN TO THEM THROUGH HIS SON.    This is as true today in our world as it was in the first century.   That is why Jesus came,   to be the bridge between God and man.   Jesus is God in the flesh (Hebrews 1:2,3,8).    And all things were created through Him (Colossians 1:16).
He was the perfect,    unblemished Lamb of God,  who took all of our…

When you spread out your hands,     I will hide My eyes from you;     Even though you make many prayers,     I will not hear.     Your hands are full of blood.
Wash yourselves clean;     Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes.
Seek justice,     Rebuke the oppressor;     DEFEND THE FATHERLESS,     plead for the widow.
Come now,     let us reason together,     SAYS THE LORD,
If you are willing and obedient,     you shall eat the good of the land;
But if you refuse and rebel,     YOU SHALL BE DEVOURED BY THE SWORD”;     For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.   (Isaiah 1:15-20)

I haven’t been feeling well lately,   and I’ve felt a little lonely and discouraged.   This morning I prayed about it and after my prayers,    I was reading my Bible.    I was reading from Isaiah,    I’ve been reading from it every day and it just happened to be in chapter forty.    It’s an awesome chapter and I’ve read it many times,    but sometimes familiarity makes something a little less than what it should be.    So I was just reading along,     and then I come to verse 31.     And it was like I could hear the Lord speaking to me,    He was going to answer my prayer but it was going to be in His timing,    to just be patient.
What a blessing,     I felt a renewing of faith,    and I felt joy flooding back into my heart.   Because instead…
